In the previous episode, my car had failed its MOT (which didn't need doing, but I'd lost the certificate), and I was going to get it fixed. Having done this, I went to pick it up. I'd told the chap who did it that he was doing it because I'd failed my MOT. "Did it need doing yet?" he asked. "As a matter of fact it didn't," I told him. "The only reason I ask," he said, "is that while I was in the car I noticed your MOT certificate lying on the floor and I saw it was only done six months ago." I really am very stupid.
